Bring a headlight if you are early!!!!

Start from Cosby Picnic Parking Lot — Low Gap Trail head
Next — Right turn to Mt Cammerer Tower

We drove out of the hotel at 6 AM and the street was quiet. It was a smooth drive. Looking up, we saw pale stars hanging in the dark sky.

The trail was completely dark before sunrise. We didn’t bring our headlights so we waited till sunrise to start hiking.

At the parking lot, there’s a restroom and it saved my life when I had a painful bowel movement. It was so dark inside that I accidentally dropped my phone in the toilet…

Thankfully the phone saved itself. I saved my GPS on the way. (Google: Mt Cammerer gpx)

The trails are mostly slow steady slope, not particularly difficult. Lots of rock on the trail, so treading downhills took some effort.

Not much view along the way as it’s covered by trees, even we reached the upper level of the mountain.

It was cool in the early morning but it turned warm and humid at noon.

Bring bug spray!!!!

Near the Mt Cammerer Tower, flies hovered around at noon under the sunlight. We struggled to find a shady place to sit for lunch. Part of the trail was muddy and the mud eats your shoes.
